Servers can require players to have a mojang. Weird enough, when the join they actually show an error. I got this error fixed by turning off enforce secure profile but it doesnt load the player's skins. When i made a server in 1.19+ it keeps giving me chat disabled due to missing profile public keys and to try reconnecting, ive waited a few days and yet.
If you encounter the missing profile public key as server administrators, then there may be a fix worth exploring that can disable the need for secure connections.
